Confirmed! it will work with windows 8. Just be sure to use the “have disk” path then choose the certified driver and boom. Works like a charm.

$ sudo cp /usr/share/applications/kde4/dolphin.desktop /usr/share/applications/

And never use “sudo vim” but rather “sudo -e /usr/share/applications/defaults.list”! (or emacs tramp)

The trick worked fine for me, did you get the latest software patch on that app? I had to update mine before it worked, but it launches fine.

I found I had to make that:

inode/directory=kde4/dolphin.desktop

There was no line to replace. I just added it in.

Hi Matthieu, i tried your file, but every time the installer start, don’t detect the disk, giving me this message:
Error while running ‘modprobe -v usb-storage’
I tried 3 hard disks, and 2 usb key, always with same result…
Also tried with ubuntu and win xp, nothing changes
Have you some ideas to fix?
